Gif tutorial!
So a few days ago I was asked to make a gif tutorial. And now that I finally have time, here it is. :’)
-
1: First, assuming that you already have Photoshop, download the KMPlayer.
-
2: Open KMPlayer, and open the video/movie you want by clicking the little arrow at the bottom. Then, pause the movie and go the part you want to gif.
-
3: Press Ctrl + G and this will come up: (copy all the parts that are underlined with red into your gif options)
-
4: When you’re ready, press ‘Start’ and then start the video. When you want the gif to end, pause the movie and and then press ‘Stop’.
-
5: Open photoshop. Go to File > Scripts > Load Files Into Stacks.
-
6: Press ‘Browse’ and go to where you saved all the caps from KMPlayer.
- Choose all the caps you want, from the beggining to end, like this. I usually have between 30 - 45 caps.
-
7: Press ‘OK’ and wait until all the caps upload. After that, change the image size (Image > Image Size…) etc.
-
8: Press Window > Animation. And if it’s set to Timeline, press this little button in the right corner:
-
9: Press the little arrow with lines beside it and press ‘Make Frames From Layers’, like this. If the gif is set the wrong way, that the end is at the beggining etc, press the little arrow with lines again and click Reverse Frames.
-
11: Now, color it. I used a psd I saved on my computer, but there are some amazing psd makers in my faq. Don’t worry if the gif looks a little blurry, we’ll get to that soon.
-
12: When you’re done coloring, you have to change the Animation window to Timeline again. Press the little button in the bottom right corner again, like this.
-
13: After that, select all the layers in the layer palatte like this. (Not the coloring layers!)
-
14: Then, go to ‘Filter > Convert for Smart Filters’. Right after that, click Filters again and go to ‘Sharpen > Sharpen’.
-
15: Almost done! Go to ‘File > Save For Web & Devices’.
-
16: Now, all you need to do is to get the gif under 1MB. It says under the bottom left corner, how big it is. *image* - If the number has a ‘K’ after it, and it’s under 1000, you’re good.
-
17: If it’s over 1MB, here are some things you can do to change that: (look at the things with the red ‘X’ after it!)

That is what I usually have, but the color amount makes a lot of difference. Other things you can do to change the size, less frames etc.
-
18: The last step is to set the ‘Looping option’ to Forever, so that the gif never stop moving. See here how to do it.
-
19: Click ‘Save’ and you’re done!
Here’s my result:

I obviously suck at explaining things, so if you have any questions, just ask!

- Go your Control Panel (you know when you click Start - like this) and then click this button.
- Then go to ‘Fonts’ or something like that, it should be the last map you can click on.
- And then just drag the font into the map with all the other fonts like this.
- Open photoshop and it should be there! :)
"How can you change a photo's background color? Sorry, i'm trying to learn and you're the boss :)"
asked by: Anonymous
Ahw, you’re too sweet! :’)
There’s different ways to do it. I used to do it like this, but now I just color a photo, make a new file with the color I want for the background, go back to the photo I colored, cut the person out with Polygonal Lasso Tool and then drag what I cut out over the colored file and done! :)
how to sharpen entire gifs at once (no action needed!)

"How did you made this, Tessie? /post/15888830150"

- Color and sharpen the picture.
- Add this texture (i usually sharpen it before I use it, but sometimes it looks wierd) - set it too screen and around 30 - 60%
- Use topaz clean (i use ‘cartooned’, ‘crispstyle’ or ‘curly smooth’ - it depends) and play around with the setting to see what looks best, it’s always different.
- Smart sharpen it. - I usually use amount: 40 - 60 | radius: 0,3
- Add this texture and set it to ‘Lighten’.
- Merge all the layers and duplicate the layer and to the new layer that you made, add guassian blur: 2,7 -set it to ‘Screen’ and then 10 - 20% opacity.
- Now duplicate that layer and set it to ‘Soft Light’ - around 25% opacity and you’re done!
"how did you do that "3d" effect?"
asked by: Anonymous
It’s really simple! You just color the picture you want (black and white usually) and then save it. Then, save it again under another name so that you have two pictures that are the same. Then, open the other one so that you have two identical pictures open. On one of them (doesn’t matter which one) go to layer > new fill layer > solid color and choose a color and then set it to multiply.
after that, merge all the layers on the colored one and then drag it over the b&w one. Set the picture to ‘lighten’ and then move the picture a little to the right or left, what ever looks right. then, it should look like this, and you’re done!
"How do you put ask box above your faq?"
asked by: Anonymous
I’ve been asked this question a lot, so I’m just gonna tell you here and then put it in my faq:
- Go to the old customize page > pages > add a page
- Make a faq or whatever and then go the html of the page.
- Copy this code: ( <iframe frameborder=”0” height=”149” id=”ask_form” scrolling=”no” src=”http://www.tumblr.com/ask_form/yoururl.tumblr.com” width=”100%”></iframe> ) and put it wherever you want it in the html.
- Click “Update” and then “Save Page” and you’re done!
